Major Nelson has reported that Xbox Live is going to be down tomorrow, Febuary 20th, for maintenance. While he lists that the time period will be between 2a.m.-5a.m. Pacific (or that’s my assumption since neither a.m. or p.m. are listed and it’s displayed in hundreds of hours). You are correct in saying the time period is between 2am and 5am PST. The reason the the time is displayed in hundreds of hours is because that is miltary time. No am or pm is used. Once it becomes 1pm to 11pm, the hours are 1300, 1400, etc… all the way up to 2300 (11PM). Midnight is 0000 (or some use 2400).

teh-ace-playa? What on Earth are you complaining about? It is highly unlikely that at 2am - 5am PT (5am - 8am EST) you or anyone else who does not already have Crackdown, will even have it. Most game retailers do not even open shop until 10am, and even still, most of them do not get their UPS shipment for the day until around noon. And even still, depending on how busy traffic in their store is and how well they are staffed, it could take most of the day to their UPS shipment checked in, tagged and properly on the shelves and in inventory. And chances are, most of us (probably yourself included) won’t be able to pick up your copy of Crackdown until you get out of work - for most of us that is around 5pm, plus another 30 minutes to an hour of commute to get to the game store and waiting in line with the rest of the local workforce who just got of work too and want to pick up their copy of the game at the same time as you. Factor in the commute home, dealing with wife/husband/kids/pets/roommates/other family issues/etc. and getting a bite to eat, and chances are it will be sometime between 6pm to 8pm (your local time) before you actually get to sit down and enjoy your brand, spanking new copy of Crackdown - by which time, Xbox Live will have been down for it’s scheduled maintenance/update, back up again, back down again to fix the bugs associated with every time they go down to run an update, but long enough for all the people who never seem to go to work to get online and bitch and wine and complain about the fact that it is noon and XBL is down again, and long enough for you to visit Digg on the work computer around noon and find out that it is still down and has been Dugg 10,000 times by all those guys who never seem to go to work, so you worry about it all day, and then finally back up again where it may work fine, but with a few hiccups by the time you get home and get on your Xbox 360 between 6pm to 8pm (your local time) and sit down to play Crackdown online with the rest of us going online with the full game for the very first time.
In other words, dude, don’t worry about it. Your good to go.
Honestly, the only people affected by this hindering their Crackdown experience today, are anyone who already owns the game (I know quite a few on my friends list who do - lucky bastards) and who decide they want to get online with a game of Crackdown between the times of 5am to 8am EST. But if you are like me and do not already have a copy, and are looking to pick it up today, then you got nothing to worry about if the scheduled maintenance goes according to schedule. By the time you get home to play, the network will have been back up for most of the day - heck, for most of the country, the network should be back up before we even head out to work this morming.
