An unexpected 360 exclusive

Since the release of the Xbox 360 we’ve seen numerous franchises that used to be exclusive to Sony go multiplatform on the 360.  Grand Theft Auto, Virtua Fighter, Armored Core and Devil May Cry to name a few.  However, the time has come that a formerly Sony exclusive franchise not only go multiplatform, but actually become a 360 exclusive!

Enter Ace Combat, the critically acclaimed Flying game that has soared on Playstation consoles for over a decade.  The newest addition, Ace Combat 6 has been revealed in the latest Famitsu as another exclusive but not for the Playstation 3, not even for the Playstation 2, this one is heading for the Xbox 360!  Yet another big game is making it’s way to the 360 and once again much to the chagrin of Sony.

Is this just one more example of the ‘Changing of the Guard’?   Come discuss the topic in our forums!

Thanks to Kiz11 for the tip!

This gen, you can’t trust many games to be exclusive (3rd party that is).

Capcom was a different case, they’re to focused on making money now and forgot about loyalties to sony, which sony’s very well earned. Without the PS2 there wouldn’t be a DMC4. And we all know bill gates had something to do with this….And remember, Bioshock originally started multiplatform (PS3/360/PC) but later became a microsoft exclusive. The same could be said for this, going from exclusive-multi-exclusive again. Sony could pay a nice price for them to cancel the 360 version (PC would be fine).

Namco is the same way. The tales, tekken, katamari, and ace combat series all got their success on the PS1/PS2. I know this is business, but they definatly have loyalties to sony. FOR NOW it’s exclusive, but I don’t see anything in the article about it being exclusive (word for word, not questions), so this could be like “the assassin creed” case, where it was said to be exclusive, but will be revealed later to be multi. Or, sony could throw a nice sum of money to cancel the 360 version/make a PS3 version, or make it multiplatform.

Or…..maybe Namco is doing the best they can to make money AND be “nice to sony”. Tekken 6 is currently a PS3 exclusive, AC6 technically isn’t (no official words of exclusivness from namco). Maybe a new tales game will be announced exclusive to the PS3, or a new katamari. Or 1 of those 2 will be multi, along with AC6.

Just saying, because nearly all japanese companies prefer sony to microsoft.
