Mario and Sonic to Appear in a Game Together!
Sega released a press release today announcing that Mario and Sonic are going to be appearing together in Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games during the 2007 holiday season for the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS. Basically, this November or December. Does it sound like a potentially crappy game? Hell yeah. Does it sound like a potentially awesome game? Hell yeah. Am I going to buy it no matter what? Hell yeah!!!
In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, players will compete in events that take place in environments based on the official venues of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Using a supporting cast of characters from the amazing worlds of both Mario and Sonic, gamers will be able to compete as or against a range of lovable personalities including Mario, Sonic, Luigi™, Knuckles™, Yoshi®, Tails™ and more. Innovative usage of the Wii and DS control systems to maneuver a favorite character will allow players to race the likes of Mario and Sonic down the 100m track, engage in exhilarating rallies in table tennis and churn water in a swimming heat, all while competing for the much sought after gold medal.
This could be the next Wii Sports if they get it right.

Does it sound like a possible April Fools Day Joke, hell yeah…
But if it isn’t….*jumps up and down for excitement* YAY!
I think my main problem with the description is not nessicarily a Mario-Sonic game…but the whole Olympics thing…I don’t know, it just doesn’t seem like a normal enviorment for these characters to be in…especially if they’re making it like the real Olympics….
I COULD imagine them in some sort of different Olypics like, you know, see how far they could throw Bowser, or a race where you can like attack other racers or something…
Still, I’ve got my fingers crossed that it’s real!
