The ball can absorb coloured NPC’s to become larger and change its colour. With the paint, the player can then proceed to paint the entire city. Almost everything is paintable: buildings, trees, cars and using the paint trace even the ground. The main goal of the game is to paint all 17 landmark buildings. Hardcore fanatics can also try to collect all 50 coins that are hidden around the level.â€? Expect it in 2008′

Lightsaber Game “Already Played”

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Apparently Lucasarts have arleady played a Lightsaber Wii game that they developed internally and its “a lot of fun” From Gamasutra:

In response to a question from session moderator N’Gai Croal of Newsweek asking: “What would it take to make a lightsaber game for the Wii?”, Ward, who is President of LucasArts and a Senior VP at Lucasfilm, commented:

“We’re all over that, and internally we have already played a lightsaber game on the Wii. It’s a lot of fun, and we’ll get there.”

He added that the whole concept of a title using a lightsaber of Nintendo Wii was “…in place! There’ll be some stuff out this Fall - it’s going to be a lot of fun.

Erm.. make now…please. Anyone else psyched for this? Discuss it over at the forums.

The winning entry is below.

Brotherly Savior

I was in Hell.

I didn’t think it, I knew it. And if I was wrong I couldn’t imagine Hell being much worse.

We’d just been launched from the ship and for the first time in my tour of duty I was looking at the face of this war. We we’re landing in France. I think. I wasn’t sure; it was hard to pay attention during the briefing, especially after they told us about the machine gun nests in the hills above our landing. It reminded me of those stories my father would tell me about his days in Gallipoli during the Great War, the way that the maxims would cut down soldiers hundreds at a time.

And now I was going to be charging directly towards them.

We’d already lost two men shortly after launching. They were caught by stray bullets, one got shot in the head, he was lucky. The other guy took one in the gut and went into shock, the captain said that medics might be able to save him when we got to land, but I think he just wanted to avoid a mercy kill in front of the others.

I looked to my side and could see that Paul thought so too. He was clutching his rifle hard, his knuckles were almost white from the strain and from the burning cold. Unlike most of the men on the boat his face was much harder, frozen into a state of determination, blocking out the thought of the man dying on the floor.

The new trailer will hit for GTA 4 soon, and you can see it here. Apparently this countdown will turn into a video when it hits zero, so lets see how it goes.

You can also discuss this here

UPDATE:

The trailer didn’t show on the countdown flash, but it did over at the official site. Its extremely poor quality mind you, however the trailer itself is pretty cool if you can make any of it out XD

Cruis’n to a Wii near you

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

I’ve been wondering for almost 5 years now if and or when this was going to happen, finally it’s official that the successful Arcade/N64 racing series is making a comeback.

For those that remember, Cruis’n USA was a major hit in Arcades in the mid 90’s and one of the launch window titles for the N64. During the N64’s lifespan two sequels where released, Cruis’n World and Cruis’n Exotica while a GBA game called Cruis’n Velocity came out in 2001. Ever since then there’s been not even a peep about the franchise.

Aside the Arcade version of the original which was well received, the series was pretty regularly panned by critics, yet the games where always good sellers so I figured we would see them return someday.

God knows the Wii could use some solid racers so even though the series has had a troubled past, at least on consoles, I suppose there’s no harm in giving it another shot.

Be sure to stop by the forums and discuss your memories (good or bad) about the past Cruis’n games as well as your expectations (or lack-thereof) for the new installment.

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

A new game was announced today by Majesco. Blast works sounds genuinely awesome, and although we’ve seen nothing in the way of a game yet, just- simpy the description “Gamers can literally build their own shooter experience via Blast Works’ easy-to-use, multiple in-game editors” gets me going! Check out the press release and logo below:

Reggie says Man Hunt 2 “Not an image issue”

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime has spoken out for the first time on the controversy surrounding Rockstar title Manhunt 2.

Reggie

Speaking to Newsweek Fils-Aime said, “This is not an image issue. Wii welcomes games rated E, T and M. We haven’t approved AO-rated games. I doubt we ever will.”
According to Fils-Aime, Manhunt 2 is “a game rated outside our spectrum, outside any manufacturer’s spectrum”.

There have been some suggestions that even if Rockstar edited the content of Manhunt 2 so the PSP and PS2 versions could be re-rated as Mature by the ESRB, the Wii game might still retain the Adults Only tag due to the gestural nature of the control system.
When this was put to Fils-Aime the executive replied, “That’s an issue for the ESRB and Rockstar to work through. And as I understand the ESRB guidelines, the Wii controls should not be an issue.”
