Mushroom Men - Gameplay and Dev. Interview

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Mushroom Men, the game set to release Q4 2008 on Wii and DS dind’t really have that of an impact with it’s non-CG or Ingame trailer some months ago.

But after just 4 months of development we get to see some real promising gameplay.

So what do you think, will this game be one of the must-have titles in around 14 months? I know it will be for me.

Thanks to madMUHHH for the tip and feel free to discuss at the forum.

Wii Smashes Uk Sales Records!

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

According to Chart Track UK, the Wii has broken 1 million sales in the UK in just 38 weeks! Thats 11 weeks faster than the Playstation 2 which took 50 weeks to break the 1 million mark. It just goes to show that if you market something just right, its going to sell like hotcakes. I know I personally added 2 sale points, getting one for myself and buying another as a gift for an old timer who doesn’t game but now won’t put the golf club, er.. Wii remote down!

Another interesting fact is that the Wii has recently seen a rise in sales and has been holding 68% of the console market in the UK over the course of the past few weeks! Simply amazing. Its a shame we can’t see any figures for the rest of that 32%! I’d love to see what the divide with the 360 and PS3 is.

Thanks to Olly for the initial tip!

Halo 3 Goes Gold

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

4_playable_characters_screenshot.jpg

Its official guys! Since yesterday, Halo 3 has been in its Gold form, primed for release on September 24th! I’m so psyched for this. I haven’t been for a long time but now that its right around the corner I’m itching to play it! Hey! I’ll be in my new place then too. Check out the press release below:

‘The wait is almost over. “Halo 3,â€? the final chapter in the groundbreaking “Haloâ€? trilogy and the most anticipated game release of 2007, has been released to manufacturing.

Three years in the making by renowned developer Bungie Studios, “Halo 3 is now finished and will begin its journey to store shelves around the world in less than four weeks. “Halo 3, which has already set new records as the fastest preordered game in history, has exceeded one million presales in North America alone. The title is set to shatter day-one entertainment sales records when it is released worldwide beginning Tuesday, Sept. 25.

“This is a huge milestone for us and a big cause for celebration at Bungie and Microsoft Game Studios,â€? said Harold Ryan, Studio Head at Bungie Studios. “This is the game we’ve always wanted to make and certainly the best game our studio has developed. We can’t wait for gamers to get their hands on it on Sept. 25.â€?’

Microsoft supports Ninty’s Success, Promotes Wii60

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

Too many times do we see CEOs or company executives trade verbal punches with one another to downplay their competitors and gain some ground with public opinions. Well it’s nice to see one executive that wont participate in the usual school yard mud slinging.

At the recent X07 event in Toronto, Jeff Bell complimented Nintendo’s success with the Wii and suggested that gamers would benefit from owning both a Wii and 360.

And Then There Were None Screens

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

A series of screenshots have been released on the upcoming Wii and PC game based on Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None. It was also known as Ten Little Indians (over in the U.K. it was known as something else, but I might get lynched for mentioning it). If you don’t know who Agatha Christie is, then get an old angry black man to slap you upside the head and shout “Get yoself some education, foo’!”. She’s written some of the greatest mysteries, especially better than most of the crap out today.

The game itself is of the adventure genre variety, which may find a reawakening on the Wii. Only time will tell. Have some screenshots!

Uncover the mystery over in our forums.

EA Playground Having Recess on Oct. 23rd

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

eaplay.jpg

EA has announced that their EA Playground title for the Wii and DS is going to be released in the U.S. on October 23rd, and in Europe on Nov. 2nd. If you don’t quite recall what the title is, basically EA is trying to one up Nintendo and their Wii Sports title.

However, as we all know, Nintendo is a much better developer than EA, so you may as well ignore this game.

Let’s all shun the wannabe on the playground known as the forums.

Call of Juarez Answers the Call of the Demo

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

juarez.jpg

For some reason I feel as if this game has already been released. I don’t know why. Maybe it has been? I really haven’t followed up with it, and it feels like people have discussed it.

Well, whether it is out or not, here is your chance to see if it’ll be worth you chunk o’ change. It’s available in all regions but Asia and, oddly enough, Mexico. With a name like that, you’d think the game would be right at home…unless it’s about gunning down Mexicans. Then it’s just as home as WWII shooters are in Germany.

Answer the call of the forums and discuss!
